About CWSC

Children are the future of the nation. In order to enhance physical and mental development of children, Social Affairs Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government established Child Welfare Service Center (CWSC), based on the Article 15 of Child Welfare Law. The primary objective is to provide children with a sound environment for playing, recreation, education and counseling. CWSC also makes great efforts to strengthen parental education and improve the quality of childcare workers to benefit our children.


CWSC consists of three overground floors and one underground level, covering a total area of 5,573 square meters. The construction started in September 1985 and the main building was completed in July 1987. Most facilities opened in December 1987, such as School-aged Children Library, Audio/Visual Room, Natural Science Classroom, Childcare Worker Research Room and, etc. The rest opened continually as well, including Computer Playroom, Preschool Education Reference Room, Astronomy & Meteorology Room, Preschool Children Library, Preschool Playroom and Weather Room. With the approbation of the Kaohsiung City Government, CWSC officially founded on December 1, 1989.

The Purposes of CWSC

1. To offer activities good for physical and mental development of children.
2. To improve the relationship between parents and children, reinforcing the function of family through parental education.
3. To provide children with a place to play and learn by different goals, intelligence and inspiration ways.
4. To strengthen professional knowledge of childcare workers in Kaohsiung through training course.



Tuesday to Sunday: 8:30 a.m. ~12:00 p.m. & 1:30 p.m. ~5:30 p.m.
Closed on Mondays and national holidays.
